Help with "like", "%" and "?" parameter on query

SELECT Conjunto
FROM Conjunto
WHERE (Conjunto LIKE % ? %)

I can't use like with % and a parameter doing a query on a tableadapter, can anybody help?

You cannot use param marker (?) as an embedded substring. You should do the following instead:

SELECT Conjunto
FROM Conjunto
WHERE (Conjunto LIKE ?)

and provide the pattern '%<substring value>%' for the param data.

Help with "like" or "wildcard" during a parameter entry.

Disclaimer - I'm a novice when it comes to Crystal Reports as well as VB, and I am using Crystal Reports XI.

My trouble - I have a report that uses a parameter field to show a history of a whatever number is entered into the parameter when the report is accessed. I would like to add a "like" or "wildcard" to this parameter filed.

Example:

Parameter entered = ED35A100

The results are correct I get a history of the number ED35A100

However, I would like to enter the parameter = ED35*

and get results like ED35A100, ED35C100, ED35A200, etc.

Any help on how to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated.maybe this will work...lookslike({Fieldname},"*{?Parameter}*") then go to Report...Select Expert then choose the Fieldname then in the drop down key choose Is True

Help w/ parameter(s)

Trying to add a parameter to filter data by production manager. Problem: the choices for the parameter are (i.e. Mark, John, John, Tony, Mark, Mark, Mark, Lee, etc). How do you make it so the choices are only (Mark, John, Tony, Lee, etc)?

Create a second data set in the report with SQL code similar to below. Then in Reporting Services parameters, set the parameter for mulit-value and the data source to the second data source you just created.

Select Distinct Production_Manager

From ManagerDatabaseTableName

Order by Production_Manager

Could any one please help me in creating sp.
It should accept one input parameter. when you pass value 1 to this parameter it should show all odd numbers from 1 to 100 and when you pass value 2 it should show all even numbers from 1 to 100.

you would need DISTINCT in there, vaxman, and also restrict number to between 0 and 100, not just less than or equal to 100

the use of master..spt_values is a hack

better to declare an integers table, because it will come in handy in so many other queries|||Not sure what spt_values is for. I have seen it used for things like this. In examining the table, it looks like type 'P' does return distinct integers, but as Rudy says, much better to have your own table. I create one like this:

select top 8000 id = identity(int,1,1) into Numbers from sysobjects s1, sysobjects s2, sysobjects s3

(8000 because I usually use it for parsing varchar strings but change for your needs)

Or you can just generate your 50 numbers on the fly. For 50 numbers this is probably more efficient (no I/O and 50 numbers is small enough not to generate a work table) but for larger counts a real table is better because statistics will be kept for it and indexes used.

that'll get an A+|||I would expect that any of the solutions that we've offered will get a trip to the Dean's office and an opportunity to use this experience in their upcomming ethics class (whether it was part of the curriculum before now or not). These solutions may help them think about the answer they want to give, but I can't imagine any of them being "safe" to turn in as they are.
